Who am I?

I began felloweskimo.net with the intention of being anonymous, due to the annoyance of several of my peers when I had a dotcom that was easily accessable...if you knew me. So, to make things, short, you probably dont know me in real life if you are reading this. But there are a few people who know about this site.

WHY THE FUNNY NAME?

Fellow Eskimo was a name I gave myself when I was joking with a canadian friend of mine online. He is now my boyfriend of nearly 4 years. I would jokingly call him an eskimo, and since I wanted to go to college there, I became the fellow eskimo. Unfortually the whole college thing did not work out, but I am still quite fond of Canada.

SO TELL ME ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

Well, I have been seriously intrested in photography for the past two years. I had always had little disposable cameras before then, but it wasnt until I had the oppertunity to work in a darkroom did my passion for it truely begin to develop. I started my travels with a Yashica FX-3 Super 2000 manual SLR camera (for the folks out there who have never used a film camera, thats one you have to set all of the buttons yourself and focus on your own!).

After exploring black and white film photography for a while, I wanted a digital camera. The first chance of digital photography I had was with 640x480 stills on an 8 megabyte compact flash card. It wasnt the best photographs in the world, but it kept me wanting more. Then for christmas of 2003, I was given my first real digital camera: a sony dsc-p10. A wonderful little camera. In fact, many of the early pictures (until the beginning of june 05) are with the sony. But, eventually all good things have to come to an end. I felt I grew out of the sony, it became restraining. I saved up, and purchased my first digital slr, the canon 350d. That is what I shoot with now. And also, last but not least, my Holga 120, which I havent posted photos with yet!

ARE THERE ANY OTHER DETAILS?

Well, to be honest, not to much. Brief outline of my life right now: 18 year old female, going to an all girls private school in the bible belt, have a canadian boyfriend, more friends online than in real life, lover of stand up comedy, former fencer (the sport, people), 5'2, website owner for nearly 3 years. Yes, thats all folks.

SOME OF MY FAVORITE PHOTOGRAPHERS:

Noah Grey: truely my first inspiration.
David at Chromasia
Tracy made me want a Canon 10d so bad, and I think she and noah are responsible for my want of a canon.
Daily Snap, Photospectives, Ferocious Cheese, Zoom Vienna....they are all wonderful.
